Who We Are

Elder Law of Michigan, Inc. (ELM), a 501(c)(3), is a nonprofit charitable organization that promotes and protects the rights, health and economic well-being of older adults and people with disabilties providing information, advocacy, legal advice and professional services. We want individuals and their caregivers to be able to make one call for help -- 866-400-9164 -- to Elder Law of Michigan!

A key goal of all of our programs is increasing access to legal, financial, consumer, and human services through the use of technology with a human touch. With a 2011 operating budget of $1.5 million, our anchor programs include:

The Legal Hotline for Michigan Seniors, the Mid-America Pension Rights Project, the Michigan Coordinated Access to Food for the Elderly (MiCAFE) and the Consumer Fraud Prevention Project. Our new Elder Abuse Division is engaged in combating elder abuse and financial exploitation at the local, state and national level by providing training and leadership to prevent and respond to elder abuse. The organization also provides Training, Technical Assistance and Advocacy Services.

Elder Law of Michigan, Inc. was incorporated in 1990 and has provided award-winning programs and services for over 20 years. An all volunteer Board of Directors provides governance to the organization. Our management team has a combined 80 years experience in managing and serving in non-profit organizations.
