Sandra N., a 61 year old Ogemaw County resident, didn't know there was financial assistance that she and her family could receive to cover some of their food expenses. She found out she could apply for the Bridge Card for food assistance with the MiCAFE program in her area. Initially she was hesitant. MiCAFE volunteers are dedicated and friendly, and all information shared is confidential. Sandra applied and now receives money every month on her Bridge Card to help her pay for groceries. The money that she gets on the Bridge card means that she has some of her social security to use to pay other bills. This is going to make a 100% difference in our way of living, Sandra happily stated, This will give us $367.00/month to do different things that we couldn't do.
