How do I care for my Bridge Card?

How do I care for my Bridge Card?

If someone finds your Bridge Card and Personal Identification Number (PIN), they can unlawfully spend your benefits.

It is best to keep your Bridge Card and PIN separate. Do not write your PIN on the Bridge Card or on the carrier case.

It is important to keep your card in good condition so that it will work at your local grocery store. Do not damage or bend your card. Damaged cards cannot be properly swiped through the Point-of-Sale Terminal (POS).

The black magnetic stripe located on the back of your card hold your account information. Do not write on or scratch that black stripe or you may not be able to use the Bridge Card.

Don't get your card wet, or leave your card in the sunlight (such as the dashboard of your car). The card will curl up due to the heat.

Don't throw your card away - you will use the same card every month so long as you have received benefits.

Don't keep your card out in the open. Always put your card away in a safe place after using it.
