At the grocery store, the cashier will total your items. Swipe your Bridge Card though the Point-of-Sale (POS) Terminal. If you need assistance with this, ask the cashier for help. They are happy to help you!
After you swipe the card, type in your Personal Identification Number (PIN) using the keypad provided. The machine then reads your account number and PIN to verify your account information. If you enter the wrong PIN, the transaction will not work and you'll need to try again. Once the correct PIN has been entered, benefits will be taken out of your account to pay for the items selected.
Once your purchase is complete, the cashier will give you a receipt. Your new benefit account balance will be printed at the bottom of this receipt. If you have questions during any of this process, please ask the cashier for assistance.
You can spend your benefits every day of the week, including holidays and weekends. Your balance at the end of the month is carried over to the next month. You will not lose benefits that you do not use.
Benefits unused for one year will be returned to the state.
