What is the Bridge Card?
The Bridge Card is an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) system. When you receive Food Assistance benefits, they no longer come as paper stamps. Instead, you will have a "benefit account," similar to a bank account. Each month, money will be deposited automatically into your benefit account.
When you want to pay for food using your benefit account, you will need to use your Bridge Card. The Michigan Bridge Card is similar to a debit or ATM card and looks like this:

The Bridge Card is a plastic, orange card with your name and account number printed on the front. On the back of the card you will find a box for your signature and printed name. A customer service number is also printed on the back. You will need to call this number to "activate" your Bridge Card. You can also call this number if you have any problems using your Bridge Card. Be sure to sign your card.
