What items can I buy with my Bridge Card?
You can purchase any food items you can eat using your Bridge Card with a few exceptions. Some examples of what you might buy using your Bridge Card are listed below:
- Breads and Cereals
- Fruits and Vegetables
- Meats, Fish and Poultry
- Dairy Products
- Seeds and Plants (to produce food for the household)
Items that you cannot purchase using your Bridge Card include:
- Alcoholic Beverages
- Tobacco Products
- Non-food Items (such as pet supplies, soaps, paper products, cleaning products, household supplies, grooming items, toothpaste and cosmetics)
- Vitamins and Medicine
- Foods that will be eaten in the store, such as hot or prepared foods from restaurants.
The cash register will usually separate these items out for the cashier. You will pay out-of-pocket for these items separate from the food items you purchased with your Bridge Card.
