About The Mid-America Pension Rights Project

A pension can assure economic security in retirement. At the Mid-America Pension Rights Project, we understand how much your pension can mean to you and your family. In 2012, our staff recovered over $7.2 million in pension benefits for individuals, their former or surviving spouses, and their dependents. We find retirement benefits, explain pension rights, and resolve pension and retirement benefit issues for residents of Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. The Mid-America Pension Rights Project provides these services without any age or income requirements, and there is no charge for our service.

Many families struggle to protect and understand their pension rights in retirement. Donna Bylski, a Mid-America Pension Rights Project client, was shocked to learn that her surviving spouse pension— the pension benefits she was entitled to, after the death of her husband— was in jeopardy. “The Union claimed that they had overpaid my husband in the amount of $33,000,” she recalls, “and they wanted me to pay it back, which was almost impossible.” For more of Mrs. Bylski’s story, please click here or watch her story. If you, like Mrs. Bylski, need help protecting your pension or retirement income, call the Mid-America Pension Rights Project at 1-866-735-7737.
